Lifetime Assistance Celebrates Ribbon Cutting for Lowry Center Expansion and Renovation
On June 14, 2022, Lifetime Assistance held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the Lowry Center Day Services Center. The project is part of Lifetime Assistance’s $5.1 million Independence Together initiative to provide renovations and upgrades to three Day Services Centers. The goal of the project is to transform the centers into dynamic and flexible spaces that will ensure that every person is treated with respect and dignity and can achieve independence through meaningful relationships and community participation.
Located in Clarkson, NY, the Lowry Center provides services to a diverse population of individuals ranging from the medically frail, aging, and those with autism. The $2.7 million project includes new learning and work suites, as well as technology upgrades to increase engagement, communication, and mobility. The redesigned interiors and finishes create a warm and tranquil environment that fosters improvements in focus and learning. The project also includes a 6,800 SF addition with an accessible courtyard and space for community activities.
Lifetime Assistance is the largest and most comprehensive developmental disability service agency serving children and adults in the Greater Rochester region. The vision for the Independence Together campaign, the largest in its history, is to transform the spaces from traditional classrooms into fully accessible, comforting, and motivating centers. Construction on the final two centers, Paul Road Center in Chili, NY and Weiland Road Center in Greece, NY, is scheduled to begin this summer.
