16 Williams Street Renovation

The Wayne County office building houses the Treasurer’s, Real Property, Information Technology, and Compliance departments, along with a Sheriff’s Office Substation. In 2019, the building was vacated and the SWBR team got to work on a major renovation.

The gut renovation was completed on time and under budget. The first and second floors were completely renovated, allowing the County to maximize the building’s square footage for all the services located there. The project also included energy conservation improvements such as new doors, windows, spray-foam insulation, roof insulation, and LED lighting with motion control. The building has a new roof, while exterior brick was repaired and painted. There is also new exterior siding and window awnings; a new HVAC system; new fire sprinkler system; improved security access controls, new exterior and interior signage, and new interior finishes and furniture throughout.

“The layout is vastly improved,” said County Administrator Rick House. “We’ve received numerous compliments from the residents of Lyons.”
