Global Village is RIT’s state-of-the-art, upscale community for graduate students. Phase I constructed the main residential and commercial complex. Phase II added more housing, including a graduate residence hall, which SWBR completed in 2017.
The new 64,000sf, 4-story design fits seamlessly within the Village’s modern look, feel and functionality, starting with its focal point – a bright, airy, south-facing entryway lobby with floor to ceiling windows. Inside, a spacious living room opens up to 30 ADA-accessible studios, each with a bathroom and kitchenette, an RA suite, and the building’s common laundry facilities. Upper floors each have 10 four-bedroom suites with kitchen, living room and two bathrooms. All rooms have oversized windows to bring in natural light. Each floor has a unique common area with smart TV, and vending machines with internet and wi-fi available throughout.
The residence hall has received LEED for Homes Silver Certification and provides an enriching global living experience for 147 students.
