Marine Drive Apartments

Located within one of Buffalo’s most vibrant areas, Marine Drive Apartments have stood along the river throughout economic decline and the rebirth of its waterfront. Now the distressed property, the last remaining New York public housing development in BMHA’s portfolio, is being torn down and replaced with modern, affordable housing. Several of the residents’ ideas for the new complex, collected during charrettes and stakeholder meetings, were incorporated into the final design.

The resident driven, multi-phase project consists of the demolition and replacement of the seven 10-story apartment buildings. In phase one, new buildings will be constructed on the complex’s current parking lot. As each phase is completed, existing buildings will be vacated and demolished to make way for the new buildings.
