Cathy is retiring after more than 30 years with the firm and a career that spans over 40 years in interior design. Throughout her career, she has led a wide array of projects, from affordable and supportive housing to corporate, educational, and senior communities, and earned recognition through publications and design awards.
“Cathy has been integral to our Interior Design team, with her expertise, leadership, and attention to detail setting a lasting standard of excellence,” said Interior Design Manager Diana Kalvitis-Pannone. “Her ability to understand people, nurture client relationships, balance function with beauty, and mentor others will continue to shape our work well into the future.”
Cathy’s portfolio includes several award-winning and nationally recognized projects. Her notable works include the Nixon Peabody offices in Rochester and Albany, the vertical expansion of the University of Rochester’s Wilmot Cancer Center, and RIT’s Golisano Institute for Sustainability. Her work includes a decades-long collaboration with DePaul, where she helped shape over 20 affordable and supportive housing communities recognized for their quality and innovation

Before joining the firm in 1993, Cathy spent 16 years in Philadelphia working at top design firms including KPA, Interspace, Ewing Cole, and Cathers/AIG, where she served as Vice President of a startup company. Real estate professionals in the region gave her the title “Best Space Planner,” a reputation she carried forward throughout her well-respected career.
“Cathy’s dedication has been vital to our interior design practice,” said President Tom Gears, AIA. “She built lasting client relationships, mentored many, and elevated our work across award-winning projects. We’re grateful for her years of service and wish her the very best in her well-earned retirement.”
As she transitions to retirement, Cathy looks forward to travel, spending time with family and friends, and exploring new passions.
