On July 24, we joined Foodlink for a celebratory event to mark the completion of their new energy‑efficient commercial cooler at the Mount Read Boulevard distribution facility. The commercial cooler is a critical part of Foodlink’s $15M Food Production & Distribution Expansion project.

The expanded facility replaces long-used refrigerated trailers with a much-needed commercial cooler. This upgrade increases the facility’s perishable food storage capacity by 70%, enabling Foodlink to provide over 20 million meals each year and expand access to nutritious food.
The expansion also includes a new commercial kitchen, also serving as a job training classroom, equipped with large steam ovens and blast chillers to enhance meal preparation. Restored loading docks and expanded space support the Curbside Market mobile food program, while reorganized volunteer sorting areas improve safety and efficiency. The project also adds new offices and meeting spaces to accommodate growing operations.
SWBR is providing architectural, interior design, civil, and structural engineering design services for the project.
