Welcome to Buffalo Branch Manager and Senior Project Manager Erika Abbondanzieri, AIA, who is leading our newly opened downtown Buffalo office.
“We are thrilled to open our new Buffalo location which will help us better serve our Buffalo projects and allow us to expand further into the region,” said President Tom Gears, AIA. “Erika’s impressive background and commitment to the Buffalo architectural landscape and community make her an excellent fit to lead our new Western New York team.”
Erika brings over 25 years of architectural experience and a diverse design portfolio spanning education, manufacturing, and municipal projects including the Niagara Falls Heritage Gateways, to her new role. Her deep involvement in and commitment to the Buffalo community gives her a strong understanding of local context, needs, and opportunities. As branch manager, she will grow SWBR’s Buffalo team and expand its presence in the area.
In addition to her notable project portfolio, Erika has been active in several professional committees and organizations. She is a founding Board Member of Buffalo-based Assembly House 150 and served as the board chair for Buffalo Architecture Foundation’s Architecture + Education program. She served as an adjunct professor at University at Buffalo and Villa Maria College. She has a Bachelor of Professional Studies and Master of Architecture from University at Buffalo and lives in Perrysburg, NY.
