Stadium Estates Phase II Celebrates Ribbon Cutting
On December 13 our design team was on hand to celebrate the completion of Stadium Estates Phase II in Rochester. The project is helping to transform the JOSANA (Jay Orchard Street Area Neighborhood Association) neighborhood.
“Stadium Estates has been a catalyst for the revitalization of the JOSANA neighborhood,” said Charles Settlement House President and CEO Scott Benjamin. “Residents are working to make this a safer and more attractive neighborhood. “
Stadium Estates, a multi-phase development, transformed formerly vacant lots into much-needed affordable family housing. Phase II of the development added 46 new affordable homes for large families as well as a new community building. Together with Phase I, the Stadium Estates Phase II redevelopment project created 58 new residential buildings with 91 affordable homes.
Most of the homes, located in 30 new buildings, have 3 bedrooms or more to accommodate large families and are near the new community building, also part of Phase II. The mix of single-family houses, duplexes, and three-unit townhouses serve low-income households. All of the homes have Energy Star central air conditioning, washer/dryer hookups, outdoor sitting areas, and cable/internet hookups.
Designed by SWBR, Stadium Estates is a collaboration between Rochester’s Cornerstone Group and Charles Settlement House, a local organization that will provide services to the residents of Stadium Estates.
