We’re proud to celebrate the recognition of Pan-American Square Apartments in Buffalo Business First’s 2026 Brick by Brick Awards, where the project was honored in the Multi-Residential/Affordable Housing category.
The annual Brick by Brick Awards spotlight the region’s most impactful construction, development, and real estate projects, recognizing work that contributes to the ongoing growth and revitalization of Western New York. This year’s program highlighted 46 projects across a wide range of categories, with winners selected by an independent panel of industry professionals.
Located on a former rail corridor along Delaware Avenue in Buffalo, Pan-American Square Apartments transformed an underutilized site into a vibrant community that combines affordability, sustainability, and supportive services. Developed by DePaul in partnership with Christa Construction and our team, 150-unit community provides homes for older adults, individuals experiencing homelessness, and residents living with serious mental illness, helping create stability and opportunity for some of the region’s most vulnerable populations.
Designed to achieve Passive House certification, the development demonstrates how high-performance, energy-efficient design can support long-term affordability while creating healthy, comfortable living environments. The project includes a mix of studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments, as well as community amenities, outdoor gathering spaces, walking paths, and resident support services that foster connection and well-being.
