New Memory Care Neighborhood Opens at the Highlands at Pittsford
On May 17, our design team joined The Highlands at Pittsford to celebrate the grand opening the new Assisted Living Memory Care Neighborhood. The project is an addition to the existing Laurelwood Assisted Living building on the Highlands at Pittsford campus, located just outside the Village of Pittsford, NY.
The new intimate, boutique-style environment was designed to allow for interaction with the assisted and independent living residents, while maintaining security and safety for the memory care residents. It consists of eight apartment homes with a dedicated living room and an open kitchen with communal dining table that promotes socializing. The park-like campus also includes a secure courtyard. The person-centered design includes space for two dedicated nurses on staff.
The intimate and dignified design of the Memory Care Neighborhood at Laurelwood allows each community member to stay connected to what they love, empowering them to continue living life as they know it.
