Jewish Home Expands Continuum of Care with New Lilac Grove Senior Living Community

BRIGHTON, NY – On May 12, SWBR joined Jewish Home leadership, partners, and local stakeholders to celebrate the ribbon-cutting for Lilac Grove, a four-story senior living addition that addresses growing demand for middle-market housing throughout the Rochester region.

Located at the intersection of Meridian Centre Boulevard and Winton Road, Lilac Grove expands the Jewish Home’s existing Brighton campus and builds on a longstanding commitment to aging with dignity and choice, introducing 90 one- and two-bedroom apartments for older individuals.

Envisioned as part of a broader continuum of care, the 90K SF building will empower residents to remain self-directed within private apartments while benefiting from integrated services located across the campus, including licensed physician visits, rehabilitation, and skilled nursing.

Layouts range from 600-860 SF, including select one-bedroom units with dens. Shared amenities were deliberately planned to enhance quality of life, featuring a multipurpose venue, a fitness center, a pickleball court, an outdoor patio with shaded dining and fire pits, and a covered 40-vehicle carport. Residents will additionally enjoy  nearby conveniences such as a deli, salon, and a host of organized programs and activities that bolster engagement and community.

The building is framed by landscaped lawns, mature trees, walking paths, and outdoor gathering areas that promote holistic wellbeing and reinforce a strong sense of place.

“Lilac Grove reflects a thoughtful response to older adults seeking autonomy without sacrificing care,” said SWBR Project Manager Kenzie DeLong, AIA. “Our focus was on balancing privacy, comfort, and belonging to cultivate a true home that also offers peace of mind for what lies ahead.”

SWBR served as Architect of Record, working with Pike Construction (Construction Manager) to deliver the $23M development. Site preparation began in early January 2025, with construction activity carefully managed to minimize disruptions to current residents, staff, and visitors. Lilac Grove is slated to open its doors in fall 2026, welcoming tenants into a community designed to support independence at every stage of aging.
