James Newbury Hotel Complex Named Transformation Project of the Year

Flach Development’s James Newbury Hotel Complex has been named Transformation Project of the Year in the 2024 Best Real Estate Deals by Albany Business Review. The Capital Region event celebrates visionary developers that transform sites into something unique, the professionals who translate that vision into reality, and the dealmakers who bring all the players together.

In 2019, Flach Development purchased vacant industrial buildings, located along the waterfront in the Village of Coxsackie, NY, to repurpose into a hospitality venue. The project is part of the developer’s multi-phase plan to revitalize Coxsackie’s downtown and waterfront.

The first phase of the project included the 47-room James Newbury Hotel, named for the ironworks company that originally occupied the site, a bridal suite connected to the hotel, the 12,000 SF Wire Event Center, and Patrick Henry’s, a waterfront restaurant and bar.

The awards celebration was held Thursday, April 18 at the Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady.
