Union Square

Parcel 3 of the Inner Loop land reclamation project is City owned land that went out to development teams for an RFP response. We teamed with Home Leasing Inc. and together successfully were awarded the project which was named “Union Square”. Our design is consistent with the Center City Masterplan by creating public spaces for active edges and lively streets.

The four-story mixed-use project has retail and commercial spaces on the ground level with 66 one and two-bedroom residential units on levels two through four. There is also four walk up units on the ground level that are accessed from the street. This adds to creating an active street experience which increases safety and social interactions. Trillium Health is a tenant on the ground level and offers much needed support for this community and the neighborhood.

An easement by the City in the center of the site allowed the opportunity to create a covered outdoor Urban Space with the community room opening up to this area, making this a highly active space. In addition to the new streetscape and dedicated bike lane, the design includes a covered bike storage area to encourage alternative transportation.
