The Lake House on Canandaigua

Located in upstate New York, the idyllic Lake House on Canandaigua is a new hotel on the property of an old family-owned lakefront motel that has been converted into a design-forward, residentially-inspired destination.

SWBR in association with NY-based Studio Tack, were engaged to re-imagine the property as a legacy destination with a lake culture. This vision required demolishing the existing building and creating a hotel that offers a feeling of home and offers a casual, yet elegant, vibe. The property boasts 123 hotel rooms, a library bar, stylish meeting facilities, a new restaurant, Rose Tavern, a lakefront eatery, the historically signature Sand Bar and an event barn. The hotel’s double-height lobby greets guests with lakefront views. The library bar is an inviting place to find some quiet time, while upstairs, each of the rooms are elegantly appointed with custom-designed white oak furniture, accompanied by private terraces and beautiful views of Canandaigua Lake.
The meticulously landscaped site intermingles with swimming pools, lawn games, fire pits, and outdoor dining.

The Lake House is the premier vacation spot that is both casual and elevated; a true reminder of the quintessential lake culture that is so prevalent in the region.
