SWBR is proud to share that Pan-American Square Apartments has received a 2026 AIA New York State Excelsior & Professional Service Award for New Construction.
Presented in Albany, the awards honor the triple mandate of “Firmness, Commodity, and Delight” — thoughtful use of resources, meaningful impact for communities, and a lasting sense of quality in the built environment. This year, just 12 projects across New York State were selected for their contribution to public life.

Located in Buffalo, the 150-unit affordable and supportive housing community reclaims a former rail corridor as a high-performing, all-electric neighborhood rooted in connection and resilience. From navigating complex site conditions to incorporating Passive House strategies, the design reflects a collaborative process shaped by community needs — supporting stability and dignity for the people who call it home.
