SWBR Designing $10M Manufacturing Addition for Rotork

Recognized globally as a leading designer and manufacturer of industrial flow control products, Rotork Controls, Inc. has broken ground on a 52,000 SF addition project at its Gates, NY location. Rotork, which operates several national and global offices, has based its U.S. headquarters in Rochester since the 1960’s.

The first part of the expansion consists of about 43,000 SF of manufacturing space, which will include a new loading dock/receiving area, rack storage, and employee facilities. The project also includes the addition of 8,800 SF of office space, testing facilities, and a Customer Experience Center. Parking on the site will be expanded to provide for a larger workforce.

Empire State Development is providing up to $550,000 through the Excelsior Jobs Program and Imagine Monroe has approved property tax abatement and sales tax exemption for the project.

“Rotork is a global leader of actuator manufacturing, with offices throughout the United States and around the world,” said New York State Senator Joseph Robach. “By adding 43,000 SF of manufacturing space, 8,800 SF of office space and creating 50 new, good paying jobs, Rotork is helping to improve Rochester’s footprint in manufacturing.”

SWBR, in partnership with LeChase Construction, is providing Architecture, Structural Engineering, and Interior Design services for the design/build project. The team also includes MRB Group, EC4B, Leo J. Roth, Sumner-Leigh Electric, ABJ Fire Protection Co., and Building Innovation Group. Anticipated completion is Fall 2020.
