Rochester Office Renovation

Nixon Peabody, a global law firm known for their future-forward, collaborative approach, wanted their Rochester offices to not only reflect their progressive culture, but to also be its practical application. SWBR was hired to come up with a design that embodied transformation and collaboration in both form and function.

The firm occupies several floors of the 14-story Clinton Square building, with their main reception and conference center on the 13th floor. The conference rooms were pulled away from exterior windows, and new inner conference rooms designed with glass walls to allow natural light to penetrate internal spaces. Small seating areas for impromptu collaborations and “phone booths” for private conversations were added. The practice floors received new functional spaces, interior finishes, and new lighting to brighten dark circulation spaces and accent premier artwork. Lastly, a contemporary staircase connecting the 13th and 14th floors was added, granting direct access to the larger conference rooms and break out spaces.

The renovation stayed within its budget and accelerated schedule, resulting in a fresh look and synergistic environment reflective of an innovative global law firm.
