Meet our 2025 Summer Interns

We’re excited to welcome new and returning 2025 summer interns to the firm.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute student Terence Clayton was drawn to a career in architecture because it combines his creativity and artistic vision in a way that can positively impact the world. He is excited about the technological progress in the field of architecture and how it can make a positive impact on the environment. He is spending his summer working on housing projects and is graduating in May 2026.

Civil engineering student Diego Davenport is assisting with civil site projects in Civil 3D while building his skills in drafting and design. He first heard about SWBR after experiencing RIT’s MAGIC Spell Studios and Golisano Institute of Sustainability, both designed by the firm, and was impressed by their design. He decided to apply after seeing our diverse project portfolio online, inspired by the opportunity to help create spaces that improve people’s lives. He is graduating from Rochester Institute of Technology in spring 2026.

Originally from Mumbai, India, Devika Kharkar previously worked as an architect but was drawn to landscape architecture to better understand how spaces function beyond buildings. She’s spending the summer assisting in the design of a commemoration park that honors Rochester’s heritage and designing therapeutic planting spaces for a youth mental health facility. She earned her bachelor’s in architecture from Pillai College of Architecture and will complete her Master of Landscape Architecture from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign later this year.

Returning intern Halie Lago recently completed her BFA in Interior Design from Rochester Institute of Technology and is now pursuing her Master of Architecture, set to graduate in spring 2027. She was drawn to architecture and interior design by how the built environment—through space planning and material choices—shapes the way people function day to day. “As designers we have an opportunity to improve quality of life.” She is spending her summer assisting the Interior Design team on housing, commercial, and education projects.

Amadou Nabe accepted a summer internship after winning the 2024 SWBR sponsored scholarship through the Urban League of Rochester. Originally from Guinea, he is gaining hands-on experience by working on a practice project, learning AutoCAD 3D, and assisting with tasks like scanning and file organization. He credits his love for math, physics, and chemistry – along with a passion for creating solutions that improve lives – for drawing him to a career in engineering. He is currently attending Monroe Community College and plans to complete his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering by 2028.

Third-year summer intern Macky Nobes assists the team on multifamily housing and senior living projects. Though her interest in architecture started at age 9 with Minecraft, her passion has grown through frequent travel and study abroad experiences. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Kent State University and is currently pursuing her Master of Architecture (M.Arch) at Rochester Institute of Technology, with plans to graduate in spring 2027.

Architecture intern Alli Presutti is assisting our Education studio with modeling and diagram creation for higher education and K12 projects. She was drawn to architecture by her love for art and passion for the iterative design process, whether in painting or buildings, and enjoys the collaborative effort that brings creative ideas to life. She will graduate with her Master of Architecture (M.Arch) from the University at Buffalo in the summer of 2026.

Kent State University student Maeve St. John returns to SWBR this summer as an intern after shadowing with the firm in high school. As part of our Workplace team, she assists with manufacturing and office renovation projects. She credits her lifelong love of buildings and houses – and habit of critically observing their details – for drawing her to a career in architecture. She is graduating with her bachelor’s degree in architecture in 2026.
