On August 26, our design team joined Hillside and state and local officials to celebrate the groundbreaking of the Golisano Campus at Crestwood in Rochester, NY. The campus provides a therapeutic environment for children ages 5 to 14 with emotional and behavioral challenges, integrating residential, educational, and clinical support.
After decades of service, the campus is undergoing a much-needed transformation to better meet the emotional, educational, and clinical needs of the children it serves. Guided by trauma-informed design, the multi-year project will create a more welcoming, home-like environment with new and renovated cottages, expanded green spaces, and enhanced therapeutic and recreational areas to support healing and growth.

“We need to be sure that children that are coming here to live, have the opportunity to live in a home-like setting, and not in a setting that looks and feels like an institution,” said Maria Cristalli, Hillside President & CEO.
SWBR is providing architecture, civil and structural engineering, interior design, and landscape architecture design services for the project.
