The Nazareth College Arts Center is the Rochester region’s premier mid-size theater and venue for world-class music, dance, theatre, and family entertainment. The Center, which houses the College’s Theatre Arts, Music, and Art departments, is also home to the Rochester City Ballet and Garth Fagan Dance. Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2017, the Center received a $15 million music hall, connected to the existing Wilmot Hall of Music.
The new 550-seat performance hall includes a performance platform capable of holding a full orchestra and choir, totaling 100-125 performers. Through acoustical drapes and operable wall panels, the hall’s acoustic characteristics can be finely tuned to suit a variety of music and ensemble types. Supporting back-of-house spaces will include state-of-the-art acoustically isolated practice rooms and an uncasing/rehearsal room for performance preparation. An attractive courtyard and lobby for small group performances and events complete the space.
The new music hall provides an excellent new venue for regional and national musicians, while supporting and showcasing the College’s highly respected music program.
