SWBR Architects has been awarded two branch projects with The Summit Federal Credit Union in Irondequoit and Brighton. Construction for the branches will begin in May and are both slated for completion in September of 2009.

SWBR has designed all of Summit’s new branches including Penfield, Clarence, Hilton and North Buffalo. SWBR will serve as the lead architect on the design and construction documentation and perform construction administration services for both Summit locations.

“We’re thrilled to continue our relationship with SWBR and for our continued plan for growth in the Rochester area,” said Michael Vadala, President and CEO of The Summit. “These new signature-design, full-service locations will allow us to better serve our current and future members as we add convenient branches to our network.”

The Summit’s Brighton branch will be 2,493 SF and will be located at 1660 Monroe Avenue. It will feature five teller stations plus a drive-through for teller transactions and a walk-up ATM in the front vestibule. SWBR plans to seek a Silver LEED Rating from the U.S. Green Building Council as the branch will incorporate sustainable design characteristics including the use of a ground source geothermal heating and cooling system. The system will provide comfort and efficiency; reducing energy usage by 38%. The new Brighton Summit Branch would be the first project to apply for Silver LEED certification in Brighton (aside from a college or university).

The 3,850 SF Irondequoit branch will be located at 2121 Hudson Ave. in the Irondequoit Plaza and will feature six teller stations plus a drive-through for teller transactions and a drive-up ATM. The new branch will be located in front of the current branch in the parking pad of the Irondequoit Plaza fronting Hudson Ave.
