SUNY Alfred Townhouses

SUNY Alfred Townhouses

The Alfred State College student housing program provides students with a unique option of affordable housing which hasn't been offered before, and will recruit students to live on campus. The design concept behind the 150-bed townhouse complex is to create a "Main Street" concept along the campus road. From the start of design concept through the end of construction, the project will be documented to maintain the LEED Certifiable level.

The campus has presented many topographical challenges which were overcome by designing building foundations that utilized the changes in elevation. The site layout is a terracing concept that creates vistas from within all townhouse units.

The Townhouses at Alfred State College create an architectural connection to the historical village. The design style maintains the traditional architecture of the village, while focusing on the technological aspect of the campus. Each of the buildings meet the LEED's Green Building requirements as well as provide
students with the latest technology, and enhanced amenities in an independent living environment.
